Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

By using TranscriptGrab, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Use of the service

TranscriptGrab provides a tool for downloading publicly available YouTube transcripts in bulk. You may use the service for personal, research, journalistic, and commercial purposes, subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and applicable copyright law.

TranscriptGrab does not use the YouTube Data API to download transcripts. Transcripts are retrieved from publicly available caption data via a third-party service (TranscriptAPI.com). You are responsible for ensuring your use of downloaded transcripts complies with applicable laws. TranscriptGrab does not grant any rights in the underlying video content.

You must be at least 13 years old to use this service.

2. Account and credits

Free accounts receive 10 transcript credits as a one-time allowance. Paid plans provide monthly credit allowances as described on the pricing page. Monthly credits reset at the start of each billing period and do not roll over.

3. Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by FastSpring, our Merchant of Record, which handles billing, tax collection, and compliance in all regions. FastSpring's terms apply to the payment transaction itself.

Subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We offer a full refund within 14 days of your first payment, no questions asked. After 14 days, no partial refunds are issued for unused time.

If you experience a technical issue that caused credits to be consumed incorrectly, contact us for a review.

4. Download retention

Completed transcript downloads are available for re-download for 30 days from the date of processing. After 30 days, download files are permanently deleted from our servers. To re-download expired transcripts, you will need to submit a new job and use additional credits.

5. Prohibited use

You may not use TranscriptGrab to scrape transcripts at a volume that violates YouTube's Terms of Service, resell access to the service without authorization, automate requests in a manner that degrades service quality for other users, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.

6. Availability and limitations

TranscriptGrab depends on YouTube's caption system. Videos without captions, videos with disabled captions, or private videos cannot be transcribed. We do not guarantee 100% uptime or transcript availability for any specific video.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

TranscriptGrab is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that transcripts will be accurate, complete, or uninterrupted. Auto-generated YouTube captions may contain errors.

8. Limitation of liability

TranscriptGrab is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or a notice on the site. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
